Mannie Fresh interview @ Da Takeover Podcast


Mannie Fresh recently took part in a interview with the people of "The Takeover" podcast in New Orleans. In there they touch on a lot of shit in here. That's good to see that somebody knows about his story and his catalog sat down to chop it up with him.

Mos Def & Mannie Fresh Team Up For Joint Project "OMFGOD"


Yasiin Bey (f/k/a Mos Def) is joining forces with Mannie Fresh for a new project titled OMFGODOMFGODbknola.com is the website dedicated to the project, and it highlights the connection between Brooklyn's Bey and New Orleans' Mannie Fresh. So far, two clips of the emcee and producer working together in the studio have emerged. The first clip includes footage of Bey and Mannie vibing out to some of the latter's production, with the former recording a verse. 
In the second clip, an interview from 2007 is included in which Yasiin Bey exlained why he wanted to work with Mannie Fresh. "I've always been a big fan of Mannie Fresh because I think his sound represents a modern version of that New Orleans Brass thing. ...I think it's kind of genius."
