HITZ Int inks distribution deal with Universal/In Grooves

 

The undisclosed deal is one that is expected to greatly benefit both entities. Ronald “J-Dawg” Jones, Michael “Mista Meana” Patterson and Walter “Kango Slimm” Williams have been a fixture in Down South hip hop music for over two decades. Together with the younger artists under the HITZ imprint, they are making plans to distribute their epic music on an international basis.

HITZ International is in the process of lining up the projects to be released first and as such, HITZ is confident that it will soon become a well-known entity on an international basis. HITZ was born out of a vision to distribute its artists’ music internationally, so it is only natural that this deal takes hold in just such a way. It will also help to further promote the Chill Society brand, consisting of merchandising.

HITZ promises to deliver much more music to its fans in the near future and it looks forward to breaking new ground on which its younger artists may now tread.

Mac - The Camouflaged Truth (Movie Updates)

Wild Wayne interviewed Mac's mom, Sheila Phipps on Q93's 504 Radio about the March 24th, 2012 upcoming preview of "The Camouflage Truth" documentary at the African American Museum in New Orleans.

Although there have been several appeals to Mac's case, he remains behind bars on a 30 year bid for a crime he didnt commit! The documentary,"The Camouflage Truth" clears up some rumors concerning this case and refutes the findings of the St. Tammany Parish prosecutors.

Rest In Peace Mr. Magic from No Limit

 

Mr. Magic, the 9th Ward New Orleans rapper who scored a minor hit with Roy Jones Jr.’s Body Head imprint and was a frequent collaborator on No Limit Records albums in the 90s and early 2000s has died according to reports from Mannie Fresh & the Twitter account of C Murder. The rapper and his wife were involved in a fatal car accident in Mississppi last night, his daughter being the lone survivor. No further details have been released about the crash or how it happened.

Many have taken to Twitter to morn the rapper who made his No Limit debut in 1998 with Sky’s The Limit but left the label after 5 years, releasing two more albums in the process. He then joined with Jones Jr. & fellow New Orleans rapper and No Limit member Choppa to form Body Head Bangerz and put out one album, Body Head Bangerz Vol. 1 in 2004. His most noted appearances came on C-Murder’s “Down With My Niggas” and Jones Jr.’s “I Smoke, I Drank” remix featuring YoungBloodz.
